Plumbing marketing

Plumbing marketing that fills the board.

When a pipe bursts or a water heater quits, the homeowner calls one of the first three plumbers they see on Google. We build the SEO, Google Maps profile and ads that get you into that short list, and we help you win the planned work too, like repipes, water heaters and sewer lines.

  • Google Maps profile set up for emergency and planned plumbing
  • Plumber SEO with a page for each service and town you cover
  • Google Ads and Local Services Ads that run when your team can take the call
  • Call tracking, so you see which jobs came from where

Getting a four-truck plumber more of the bigger jobs

This is an illustrative example of how we approach a plumbing company. A four-truck shop got plenty of small drain calls but few water heater, repipe and sewer jobs. We split the site into service and town pages, set up Local Services Ads for emergency calls, and built separate search campaigns for water heaters and sewer line repair. Call tracking showed which campaigns brought the larger tickets, and we moved budget toward them.

How we think about it

Three ideas behind plumbing marketing

Plumbing is one of the most competitive local trades on Google. Many shops pay for the same leads and many websites say the same thing. What works is being easy to reach in an emergency and easy to trust for the planned work.

01

Win the emergency call

Burst pipes, backed up drains and no hot water are urgent. The homeowner is on their phone, often at night, and calls whoever looks open and close. If your Google profile shows the wrong hours, your site loads slowly, or your number is buried under a slider, they call the next plumber.

What we do: We set accurate hours and a 24/7 label only if you really answer, put a click to call button at the top of every page, and make sure your Local Services Ads and emergency campaigns run when your team can take the job.

02

Grow the planned work

Drain cleaning keeps the trucks moving, but water heaters, repipes, sewer lines, tankless installs and bathroom rough-ins are where the margin is. People research these jobs for days, compare companies and read reviews before they call. They need detailed pages, not a one-line service list.

What we do: We write a full page for each higher-value service: when it is needed, how you do it, what affects the price, and what warranty you give. We build ad groups to match and track which ones turn into booked jobs.

03

Be the plumber for each town

Google ranks map results by distance, relevance and prominence. A shop based in one town often barely shows up three towns over, even when it serves them every day. Plumber SEO is mostly about proving to Google that you really work across your whole area.

What we do: We build town pages with real job photos and local details, get your business listed consistently in the directories that matter, and check your position across a 25-point map grid every month.

What's included

Everything a plumbing company needs to get found

You get one team for the site, the map listing, SEO, ads and reporting. Every account is opened in your name, so you keep it all if you ever leave.

⚑

Google Maps profile

The map pack decides a large share of local plumbing calls. We set the right primary and secondary categories, list every service with a plain description, set your real hours and service area, and add job photos and updates every month.

  • Categories, services and hours set up correctly
  • Monthly photos and posts
  • Review request flow after each job
▢

Website and plumber SEO

A fast site with one page per service and one per main town. Each page answers what customers ask on the phone, shows your license and warranty, and puts your number at the top. We handle the technical SEO, titles and internal links so Google can read it all.

  • Service pages for drains, water heaters, repipes, sewer
  • Town pages for your main areas
  • Click to call on every page
▲

Google Ads and LSA

Local Services Ads for emergency calls if you qualify for Google Guaranteed, plus search campaigns split by service so you can spend more on the jobs you want. We block searches for DIY fixes, parts and plumbing jobs.

  • Emergency and planned work campaigns
  • Ad schedule matched to your dispatch hours
  • Negative keywords kept up to date
☎

Call tracking

Every call from the site, the map profile and the ads goes through a tracking number that forwards to your office or dispatcher. You can listen to calls, see which booked, and find missed calls before they become lost jobs.

  • Separate number per source
  • Missed call alerts
✎

Local SEO content

Useful articles that answer what homeowners search before they call: how long a water heater lasts, what to do when a pipe bursts, signs of a sewer line problem, and tank versus tankless. Each links back to the matching service page.

  • Two to four pieces a month, written for your area
☰

A plain monthly report

One page each month: calls, form leads, booked jobs where you track them, map grid positions and ad spend by campaign. We add a short note on what we changed and what comes next, and we can walk you through it on a call.

  • Calls and leads by source
  • 25-point map grid
  • Next month's plan
What usually goes wrong

Common problems we fix first

These are the issues we see most often on plumbing websites and Google profiles. Most of them are quick to fix and make a real difference to how many calls you get.

The problem

The site lists twenty services on one page, so Google and customers cannot tell what you do best.

Our fix

We give each main service its own page with a clear title, real photos, what is included and a call button near the top.

The problem

The Google profile shows 24/7 but calls after hours go to voicemail, which costs reviews and jobs.

Our fix

We set honest hours, schedule ads to match when your team can answer, and add missed call alerts.

The problem

All ad spend goes into one campaign, so drain calls eat the budget meant for water heaters and sewer work.

Our fix

We split campaigns by service and move budget toward the ones that book the larger jobs.

The problem

Nobody knows which calls came from SEO, the map listing, LSA or search ads.

Our fix

We add tracking numbers per source and a monthly report that shows calls and leads next to what each source cost.

How we measure success

Four numbers. Every month.

For a plumbing company we watch calls, booked jobs by service and map positions across your service area every month, so you can see which work is growing.

☎

Calls

Tracked numbers on your site, profile and ads, with source, duration and recordings, so you can see which calls became jobs.

✉

Forms

Every quote request and booking form, tagged by the page and the search that brought it in.

⌖

Map rank per area

A grid of ranking points across your service area, so you see the towns where you win and the ones still missing.

$

Cost per lead

What you spend divided by real leads, by channel. The number that tells you where the next dollar goes.

Other home-service trades

Questions

Plumbing marketing questions

Something else on your mind? Send a message and we'll reply within one business day.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your trade, how much competition there is in your area and how many services you want to promote. A one-truck plumber in a small town needs less than a multi-truck shop chasing water heaters and sewer work in a big metro. We look at your site, profile and market in the free check, then give you a written number. The first 3 months are a fixed start period, and after that it is month to month.

What is the difference between plumber SEO and Google Ads?

SEO is the work that gets your website and Google profile to show up in the free results and the map pack. It takes months to build but keeps working. Google Ads and Local Services Ads put you at the top right away, but you pay for every lead or click. Most plumbers do best with both, with ads covering the gap while SEO grows.

Do you work with other plumbers near me?

No. We take one plumbing client per service area. If we already work with a plumber who covers your towns, we will tell you during the free check and will not take the project.

How long until I see more calls?

Fixes to your Google profile and website can show up in a few weeks. Ads can bring calls in the first week once they are approved. Ranking higher on Maps in a competitive metro usually takes several months of steady work. We show you the map grid each month so you can see where you are moving.

Are Local Services Ads worth it for plumbers?

For many plumbers they are, especially for emergency calls, because you pay per lead and get the Google Guaranteed badge. They give you less control over job type, so we usually pair them with search campaigns for water heaters, repipes and sewer work. We check what is available in your area during the free check.

Will I own the website and the accounts?

Yes. The domain, the website, the Google profile, the ads account and the tracking are all set up in your name. We get access as managers. If you stop working with us, everything stays with you.

What do you need from me to start?

Access to your current website and Google profile if you have them, your services, towns and dispatch hours, your license and warranty details, some photos of your trucks and work, and about an hour of your time in the first two weeks. After that, a few minutes a month to review the report.
